MEDIEVAL TOWN OF COLLODI
Although small, Collodi is one of the Medieval Tuscan Towns that is definitely worth visiting.
Located in the heart of Tuscany, it was built in an elevated position on a hill to escape the external attacks of enemies; what stands out most is its conformation, because the town looks like a “waterfall” of small houses built along the hill located on two sides that meet at the top.
You can visit the famous “Pinocchio Park” and “Villa Garzoni”, but also walking through the little streets and admire the excellent state of conservation of the town, the ancient centuries-old streets built in stone that pass through the houses with their medieval look.
Other things to see are: the ancient Rocca with its large enclosure and its towers, one of which transformed into a bell tower, the “Pieve di San Bartolomeo” located at the top of the “old town”, which preserves important works of art and where you can admire the view, and the Bonsai Museum.
